R2R Information

Our mission:  Runner2Runner provides running programs for youth. 

We develop cross-country, track and field training and competition in a safe, positive and supportive environment.

We offer age appropriate instruction for cross country in the fall, track and field in the spring.  Both programs focus on safe, progressive training for all athletes, including core and stability work.

*NEW* Lil' Striders (introductory program offered year round)

Lil’ Striders is an introductory running program for youth boys and girls. Our athletes learn discipline, progressive training, overall fitness utilizing multi planar movement, and nutrition in an encouraging and fun environment leading these youngsters to positive and healthy lifestyle habits.

Lil’ Striders typically practice 1 to 2 times a week for 1 hour (per practice).  We provide a fun and engaging curriculum, certified coaches, equipment and practice insurance.  All of our experienced coaches (85% former collegiate athletes) undergo background checks, SafeSport classes and are insured by USA Track and Field. 

Lil’ Striders provides a fun and creative atmosphere for children allowing them to forge new relationships with others, encourage self-growth all while building important athletic movements.  We introduce running techniques with positive reinforcement games, which strongly encourage children to use their intellect, communication and leadership skills. Additionally, children learn the importance of patience and perseverance toward goals as well as an introduction to competition.

Cross Country (XC)

Runner2Runner teams train in area parks and compete in local meets. 

Training and race distances range from 1,500m - 3,000m, depending on age of athlete & location.

Season: September - October (8 weeks) , two practice a times a week ~1hr per practice. 

Track and Field

Runner2Runner teams train at area tracks and compete in local meets.

Events (may not be offered in every location)

Sprints:  100m, 200m, 400m

Mid–distance:  800m, 1,000m, 1500m, 1600 and/or mile

Distance:  3,000m

Relay:  4 x 100m / 4x 400m

Turbo Jav (safe, lightweight alternative to regular javelin) or Softball Throw

Long Jump

Introduction to High Jump, Pole Vault, Hurdles, Discus/Shotput (if equipment and coaches are available)

Runner2Runner+  (Private coaching)

R2R+ is a program within Runner2Runner which offers private 1 on 1 coaching, as well as group training for teams and individuals year round

Cancellation policy:

Runner2Runner will offer a full refund if the season has not started or a prorated amount with remaining practices.
