Chesterfield Running Club is comprised of boys and girls, grades K-5, offering progressive training for athletes of all abilities (great for first time runners!). We establish and build athleticism in a safe, supportive environment by certified, experienced running coaches. Athletes receive free performance tee (while supplies last).

Hello Parents,
Firstly I would like to give a big shout out to our runners at the meet this morning. Each of our runners brought a great attitude to the meet and gave it their all in the race.
We will be having another meet the morning of Saturday, October 28th. I will have more details as we approach that date. Please let me know if you cannot make it to the meet.
We will not be having practice tomorrow (10/9) because there is no school, the next practice will be this Wednesday.

Practice today, 10.4.17

Hi All,
The forecast looks like storms throughout the day. We will still have practice if it is raining gently, but if there is lightning or heavy rain, we will cancel. I will send out another update around 2:30 if we are having practice or not. Your children's safety is our top priority.

Chesterfield Running Club Weekly Update (10/1)

Hello Parents,
We are getting ready for our first meet of the season next Sunday, October 8th! We will be running against the Ladue Runner2Runner program at 8:00 AM in Stacy Park. Kindergarteners through 3rd graders will be racing 1 kilometer, while 4th and 5th graders will do a 2k. Ribbons will be awarded for 1st through 6th place boys and girls in each age group. We are looking for volunteers to help hand out ribbons, course marshaling, and a few other jobs, so please email me if you are available to help out.
I will go over expectations for the meet with the kids at practice this week so they will know what to expect on Sunday. As always, feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, concerns, or general remarks.

Practice this week, 9. 25.17

Good Evening Parents!
We are looking forward to another great week of practices! This past week we ran a fartlek workout, which consisted of alternating between a minute of running followed by a minute walk. We also beat the heat Wednesday with a game of duck duck goose in the gym.
It looks like it will continue to be hot this week, so make sure your kids remember their water bottles. It is important that they hydrate throughout the day, not just during practice.
We will have a meet with the Ladue Running Club on Sunday, October 8th at 9:30 in Stacy Park, 9750 Old Bonhomme Rd, Olivette, MO 63132, so mark your calendars!
And the last bit of exciting news is that the T-Shirts are in! Kids will receive them during practice tomorrow.

Practice this week

Hello Parents,
Running Club is off to a great start! This past week we did a "follow the leader" run, worked on the softball throw, practiced a relay race, and still found the time to play freeze tag and capture the flag!
After talking with the front office, we have decided it would make sense for children enrolled in after care to check in with Adventure Club before practice, so they can drop their backpacks off, and the after care staff know who to expect when practice is over. Once they are all checked in with after care, a staff member will take them out to the blacktop to join us for practice.
Also, I have attached a quick survey asking a couple questions just to help me be more organized at the start of practice:

Second practice!

Hello Parents,
We had a great first day of practice on Wednesday! We went for a 10 minute run around the school's fields, followed by a few name games, for everyone to get to know each other. Runner2Runner emphasizes having a positive attitude as well as mutual respect between both athletes and coaches. We got off on the right track with the first practice and look forward to continuing that momentum this week!
For the new additions to our club, as well as a reminder to everyone, I will meet the kids at the school's office every Mondayand Wednesday at 3:30 for the start of practice. Kids can be picked up at the end of practice at 4:30 on the parking lot/blacktop behind the school. If your child is enrolled in after care, I will take them directly to there after practice and make sure they get checked in. Chesterfield Running Club at Green Trails Elementary

Hello Parents, 

Welcome to Runner2Runner Chesterfield!

I am Phillip Soncasie, and your head coach this season. My email is psoncasie@yahoo.com, and cell phone is(314)387-7453.

Runner2Runner’s mission is to introduce track and field training or cross country in a safe, positive and supportive environment to young athletes. 

Our first practice will be held on Wednesday, September 6th at Green Trails Elementary, 170 Portico Dr, Chesterfield, MO 63017. We will meet at 3:30 on the blacktop behind the school. Please arrive a few minutes early to allow time to check in and get settled. For the first practice, we will begin with introducing ourselves and going over expectations for the season and answer any questions you may have. You’re welcome to join us for the entire practice if your schedule permits.

Team information:

Ø  All team information can be found on your team page at www.runner2runner.com  

Ø  Practice will be held every Monday and Wednesday, from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.

Ø  Meets are on October 4 at Tilles Park (9551 Litzsinger Rd, 63124) and October 25 (location TBD)

Ø  Your child should dress in weather appropriate clothing and wear proper running shoes. Layering works great!

Ø  Have your child consume a light snack 1.5 to 1 hours before each practice and meet. Please avoid dairy, sugar and high fat foods. 

Ø  Hydration is extremely important so please be sure your child drinks plenty of water prior to practice.

Ø  Bring a filled water bottle to each practice.
Ø  We will be in the direct sun so please have your child wear sunscreen, if possible.
Ø  If your child has asthma or allergies, please have them bring their inhaler and EpiPen with them to each practice. 

Ø  IMPORTANT: Please make sure to check your child out before leaving practice. For safety purposes, you must be present for them to check out and if someone other than a parent will be picking your child up, please let me know in advance.

Ø  If your child is going to miss practice or a meet, please email me.
