Clayton Running Club is comprised of boys and girls, grades 1-6, offering progressive training for athletes of all abilities (great for first time runners!). We establish and build athleticism in a safe, supportive environment by certified, experienced running coaches. Athletes receive free performance tee (while supplies last). Hello! 

My name is Mark Spewak. Coach Sonny Ta and I are so excited for this cross country season! We have been coaching together since 2015. It's a top priority of ours to make sure each of our athletes learn the sport while having an awesome time throughout the process.
I have been a competitive runner for over 13 years. I wouldn't be where I am today without the support of so many positive coaches along the way. Each season it's our mission to build an incredibly positive team environment for the athletes to train in. Every kid on our team has a role. Our coaches are expert runners and will be able to provide plenty of guidance along the way!
Our first practice is Wednesday 9/5. We will be meeting at Tilles Park on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Practice starts at 6 p.m. sharp.Please make sure you arrive a little early so your athlete has time to get checked in before practice starts. We will meet at the Gloria Shelter. The shelter is located in the middle of the park. That will be our home for drop off and pick up. (Photo of the shelter attached)
Your child's safety is our number one concern. With the weather being so warm, please make sure your athlete is hydrating throughout the days. It is required that every runner brings a water bottle to practice. We suggest they have a light snack before practice. Nutrition plays a huge role in our athlete's performance and recovery. Eating a large dinner before practice will cause cramps. 
We will not practice if the weather is severe. We make the call to cancel practice by email no later than 45 minutes before practice. These St. Louis storms pop up and go away quickly.
